Infrastructure Storytelling & Timelapse Film

Project Focus

Mindsoil documented Carmageddon, one of the largest transportation upgrades in Los Angeles, through a cinematic timelapse film revealing the scale behind the build.

This was not construction coverage. It was infrastructure storytelling. The goal: show how engineering decisions reshape how a city moves.

Projects of this size deserve more than documentation. Clear storytelling helps the public understand the investment behind the work.

Approach

We worked with project foremen to identify the moments that defined the transformation.

Timelapse photography, cinematic video, curated news audio condensed several days into a four-minute film capturing the rhythm of the upgrade.

Electronic scoring framed the roadway as a forward-looking civic investment.

Originally a self-initiated study, the film shows how cinematic storytelling helps infrastructure projects communicate value to communities, stakeholders, future users.

Select footage remains available as stock video, archival prints documenting a pivotal moment in Los Angeles infrastructure history.
